Joel Peterson v. Trammel Crow
Joel Peterson
After two decades of real estate investment experience as National Managing Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Trammell Crow Company, Joel C. Peterson decided to withdraw from the firm. At the time, Trammell Crow Company was one of the world’s largest real estate development companies, and Mr. Peterson was a partner in thousands of real estate partnerships across the country. When his separation negotiations with Trammell Crow Company reached an impasse, Mr. Peterson called on McKool Smith to handle his breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims against the firm and his former partners.
After guiding Mr. Peterson through intensive discovery and pretrial proceedings in federal and state court litigation across Texas, McKool Smith brought Trammell Crow Company to trial in Dallas state court. Following seven weeks of jury trial, Peterson reached a favorable settlement with the company.
