McKool Smith is one of only 12 law firms in the country to be featured in The National Law Journal’s listing of the top plaintiff practices/firms in the country. In its special 2016 “Plaintiffs’ Hotlist,” The National Law Journal recognizes McKool Smith’s recent plaintiff trial successes,  including the firm’s helping to secure a final judgment of more than $663 million on  behalf of relator Joshua Harman against Trinity Industries Inc. in June 2015. McKool Smith principal Sam Baxter served as co-lead trial counsel in the case. The National Law Journal also highlights a $32 million verdict that McKool Smith secured on behalf of the developers of Canyon Ridge Resort against financial services firm Sterne Agee & Leach, Inc. and one of its former investment bankers. The verdict was announced after a seven-week trial, which is reported to be the longest and the verdict one of the largest, if not the largest, in Hamilton County, Tennessee history.  The McKool Smith trial team was led by Dallas principal Robert Manley.
