DALLAS – McKool Smith attorneys have been recognized in the Texas Super Lawyers listing of the state’s top attorneys.

In addition to our Super Lawyers,  four attorneys received special recognition, including Firm principals Samuel F. Baxter, Mike McKool, and Theodore Stevenson III who earned spots among the Top 100 lawyers in Texas, and firm principal Steven J. Pollinger, who is listed as one of the Top 50 attorneys practicing in Central Texas.

The following McKool Smith principals appear on the 2008 Super Lawyers list:

    Samuel F. Baxter, Dallas/Marshall

    Douglas Cawley, Dallas

    Lewis T. LeClair, Dallas

    Robert M. Manley, Dallas

    Mike McKool, Dallas

    Steven J. Pollinger, Austin

    Steven D. Woolens, Dallas

The Texas Super Lawyers list appears in the October 2008 issue of Texas Monthly magazine and Texas Super Lawyers magazine, which is published by Law & Politics Media Inc. in conjunction with Texas Monthly.

“We practice law to win cases, not awards, but there always is a sense of pride when you are recognized for your work,” says Mr. McKool, co-founder of the firm. “We feel this honor speaks to the great work this firm as a whole does on behalf of our clients.”

Super Lawyers selections were based on nominations from more than 70,000 attorneys across Texas. Nominees then were screened by a blue-ribbon panel before final selections were made. Fewer than 5 percent of all Texas lawyers earn the Super Lawyers distinction.

With more than 130 litigators working as an integrated team across offices in New York, Washington, D.C. and Texas, McKool Smith has established a reputation as one of America’s leading trial firms. The firm has been recognized by The National Law Journal and VerdictSearch for winning more Top 100 verdicts than any other U.S. law firm during the past three years.  McKool Smith represents leading clients across a broad range of practice areas, including complex commercial litigation, intellectual property, bankruptcy, and white collar defense.
