Houston-based principal Joshua Newcomer has been recognized in Benchmark Litigation’s inaugural “Under 40 Hot List.” The new Benchmark publication honors the achievements of the nation’s most accomplished legal partners of the age of forty or younger.  Through a process of peer review and case examination, this list has been compiled over a process of many months to assemble this collection of young, up-and-coming attorneys

Since joining McKool Smith in 2013, Joshua Newcomer has continuously contributed to a number of the firm’s most high-profile cases, and maintained active involvement in significant pro bono matters and community-based endeavors.  His recent cases include serving on the trial team that represented Freddie Mac in litigation against Deloitte & Touche LLP in which Freddie Mac alleged more than $1 billion in damages, and serving on the trial team that successfully defended Alcoa Power Generating, Inc. against the State of North Carolina concerning ownership rights to submerged land and four hydropower dams on the Yadkin River.
