Michael J. Donley is an Associate in the Dallas office of McKool Smith. Prior to joining the firm, he was appointed by the Texas Commissioner of Education to create the Office of the Inspector General within the Texas Education Agency and serve as its first inspector general.

Mr. Donley also has experience representing clients in a wide variety of complex commercial litigation, including complex contractual disputes, multidistrict litigation, disputes between competitors, intellectual property disputes, public policy matters, environmental litigation, state and federal regulatory matters, and white-collar defense.   

While attending the Harvard Law School, Mr. Donley was an editor and senior editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy.  

As an undergraduate at the University of Nebraska, Mr. Donley was elected to membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Society and received the Chancellor’s Scholar Award for a perfect grade point average.
