Jeffrey Frey is a Principal in McKool Smith’s Washington, DC office. Prior to joining McKool Smith. Dr. Frey was counsel in Dewey and LeBoeuf's Washington, DC office. His practice is focused on intellectual property litigation, and he has been involved in cases involving semiconductor technology, mobile telephone and other network communications, computer security systems, flash memory technology, internet security systems, semiconductor production technology. He has participated in a number of cases in the International Trade Commission involving these technologies. He also has had considerable experience in the field of medical device patents. He clerked for the Hon. Randall R. Rader on the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in 1999-2000 and again in 2005-2006.

Before law school Dr. Frey was a Professor of Electrical Engineering, first at Cornell University and subsequently at the University of Maryland.  He was a Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science at the University of Tokyo, and a Visiting Professor in the University of Tokyo Institute of Industrial Science.  In addition,  Dr. Frey took some time from Cornell to be Manager of Advanced Technology and Photolithography Development at Signetics Corp.  He has served as co-Director of the Cornell University National Research and Resource Facility for Submicron Structures.
