Daniel R. Pearson

Daniel R. Pearson is an associate in the Dallas office of McKool Smith.  His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and patent litigation matters.  Mr. Pearson is a graduate of Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law, where he served as a research assistant for the dean of the law school, John B. Attanasio.   

While in law school, Mr. Pearson was one of six students selected in his entering class to receive the Hatton W. Sumners Foundation Scholarship in recognition of academic achievement, commitment to civic duty, and leadership.  Mr. Pearson also served as an articles editor for the SMU Law Review Association.

• LML Patent Corp. v. JP Morgan Chase & Co. Part of the team representing LML in a patent infringement action against multiple defendants involving electronic checking transfers.
• Steiner + Associates, Inc. v. Ballpark Real Estate, L.P. Part of the team defending Ballpark Real Estate and other defendants in a contract dispute related to the Glorypark development near the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
• VirnetX, Inc. v. Cisco Systems, Inc. Part of the team representing VirnetX in a patent infringement action against multiple defendants involving methods for facilitating and securing the creation of virtual private networks.
• PACT XPP Technologies, AG v. Xilinx, Inc. Part of the team defending Xilinx against patent infringement claims involving dynamically configurable computer processors.
• MetroPCS v. Merrill Lynch & Co. Participates on a team representing MetroPCS in a contract dispute related to auction rate securities.
• Gatlin v. M. Brown Books Publishing Group, Inc. Served as lead counsel for Ms. Gatlin in a contract dispute related to her first novel.
• 4KS Aviation III, Inc. v. Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. Participated on a team representing ACS in a contract dispute related to private aviation acquisitions.
