Sachin Bansal is an associate in McKool Smith’s New York office.  Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate with Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP.  His practice involves a range of bankruptcy litigation, complex commercial litigation and white collar matters.  Mr. Bansal is conversant in Spanish, and fluent in Hindi.  

He focuses his pro bono efforts on seeking criminal and civil relief for prisoners.  He is currently working with the Duke Law Wrongful Convictions Clinic in connection with the factual investigation of a North Carolina prisoner’s claim of actual innocence.  Before joining McKool Smith, he helped win a section 1983 appeal for a Virginia prisoner before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and was part of a team that won a new trial for a Tennessee death row inmate through habeas state court proceedings.
