Representative Matters
i4i Limited Partnership and Infrastructures for Information. Represented i4i and Infrastructures for Information in a suit against Microsoft for patent infringement involving a method and system for manipulating architecture and content of a document separately from each other. The jury found the patent valid and infringed rendering a verdict in favor of the plantiffs.
EDS. Represented EDS in billion dollar dispute against Worldcom involving a broad spectrum of technology services. The matter resolved prior to trial. Also defended EDS in a patent infringement action against Data Treasury Corporation.
Ericsson, Inc. Represented Ericsson in a patent infringement action related to TDMA cellular radio technology.
National Instruments. Represented National Instruments in multi-patent infringement case involving patents covering award-winning LabView software.
3M. Represented 3M in patent infringement case covering healthcare management software.
BearingPoint, Inc. Represented BearingPoint, Inc., formerly KPMG Consulting, Inc., in lawsuit alleging breach of contract and negligence relating to consulting services agreement.
Visto Corporation. Represented Visto against RIM in a multiple patent infringement case involving technology that allows mobile phone users to download email. After Visto's patents were confirmed in a reexamination proceeding, RIM settled with Visto.
NVR Mortgage Finance, Inc. Represented NVR Mortgage Finance in its lawsuit against Chase and Hibernia for breach of contract, wrongful honor and negligence relating to bank lockbox services.
Gulf South Pipeline Co. Represented major pipeline company in citizen suit seeking to force the company to spend billions for alleged violations of federal regulations. Won summary judgment.
Excel Communication, Inc. Represented Excel in arbitrations against franchisees leading to favorable arbitration awards or settlements.
Hunt Oil Company. Advised client on royalty interest matters.
Trilogy Software. Represented Trilogy in intellectual property case involving complex pricing and configuration software.
