As a former law clerk for Judge T. John Ward of the Eastern District of Texas, Ms. Thomas is able to provide her clients with unique insights and valuable courtroom experience in one of the most important venues in intellectual property litigation.
Ms. Thomas participates in McKool Smith’s pro bono program as well. She successfully secured an acquittal for a defendant in a criminal trial in Dallas County.
Representative Matters
Visto Corp. Visto v. Seven. Ms. Thomas was part of the litigation team that obtained a multi-million dollar verdict against Seven Networks for willfully infringing patents developed and owned by Visto Inc.
Intel. Intergraph v. Intel. Represented Intel in defense of patent claims involving parallel processing
National Instruments. National Instruments v. The Mathworks. Ms. Thomas was part of the litigation team that secured a multi-million judgment for National Instruments in a software patent infringement case.
Ericsson. InterDigital v. Ericsson Inc. Ms. Thomas represented Ericsson in patent infringement litigation involving wireless telecommunications technology.
Hill. Hill v. Amazon.com et al. Represented Charles E. Hill in patent litigation involving storing and updating electronic data against multiple internet retailers. Resulted in favorable settlement for client.
Cisco Systems. Cisco Systems v. Huawei. Represented Cisco Systems in obtaining a worldwide preliminary injunction against Huawei for misappropriation of trade secrets.
Parental Guide. Parental Guide of Texas v. Funai et al. Represented Parental Guide in a patent infringement lawsuit regarding “V-Chip” technology against several major television manufacturers. Resulted in favorable settlement for client.
Holly Corporation. Frontier Oil Corporation v. Holly Corporation. Ms. Thomas assisted in trying the breach of contract case to a judge in Delaware Chancery Court who found in favor of Holly Corporation.
