DALLAS/AUSTIN – Attorneys from the Dallas and Austin offices of McKool Smith have earned spots on the 2008 listing of Texas Rising Stars. Rising Stars are recognized as the top Texas lawyers age 40 or younger, or those who have been practicing law for 10 years or less.
Dallas principals L. David Anderson, Jill F. Lynch and David Sochia earned selection to this year’s list based on their work in business litigation. Dallas associate Scott W. Hejny has been recognized for his work in intellectual property litigation.
In Austin, firm principals Kevin L. Burgess and Pierre J. Hubert, and firm associate John B. Campbell have been honored for their expertise in intellectual property litigation. Austin associate Laurie L. Gallun was named in the area of business litigation.
“Each year we seem to consistently increase the number of Rising Stars at our firm, which is indicative of the quality, dedication and hard work of all our attorneys,” says Mike McKool Jr., founder of McKool Smith and a Texas Super Lawyer. “We are proud to have so many talented young attorneys available to serve the growing needs of our clients.”
Rising Stars selections are based on nominations from fellow attorneys who previously were honored in the prestigious Texas Super Lawyers list. Only 2.5 percent of eligible Texas attorneys were chosen for this honor.
McKool Smith has more than 95 attorneys in Dallas, Austin, Marshall, New York and Washington, D.C., handling commercial and intellectual property litigation for national and international clients. The firm is recognized as one of the premier litigation law firms in the United States, having earned significant courtroom victories for clients such as American Airlines, BearingPoint, Ericsson, Electronic Data Systems, Lockheed Martin, Medtronic Inc., and Sony Ericsson.
