Robin Cohen has more than 30 years’ experience handling many of the insurance industry’s most significant and cutting-edge coverage cases. She handles a broad range of insurance recovery disputes, including those involving asbestos, product liability, toxic tort, environmental, directors and officers, first-party, employee dishonesty, and employment coverage matters. As the head of McKool Smith’s insurance recovery practice, Robin leads an elite group of 25 trial lawyers across offices in New York, California, and Texas that has built an impressive national profile by handling and trying many of the country’s largest insurance recovery disputes. To date, the group has obtained more than $8 billion in insurance-related recoveries for a wide range of corporate policyholders. Robin has been recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential Women Lawyers in America by The National Law Journal and an Insurance "MVP" by Law360. She also received the 2017 "Best in Insurance & Reinsurance" award at the Euromoney "Women In Business Law Awards" and was awarded 2016 "Insurance Litigator of the Year" by Benchmark Litigation.
Gayle Klein focuses on business litigation, particularly including disputes over complex financial transactions, breaches of fiduciary duty, theft of trade secrets, and violations of non-competition agreements. She also has extensive experience defending against consumer class actions. Ms. Klein regularly litigates against financial institutions and high-profile companies and is Co-Chair of the firm's financial products team. She is ranked as a New York litigation star by Benchmark Litigation, and named among the “500 Best Lawyers in the United States” by Lawdragon. Ms. Klein is also recognized for commercial litigation in New York by Chambers USA.
Elizabeth Sherwin focuses her practice on the representation of policyholders in all types of insurance coverage litigation, including comprehensive liability insurance, products liability coverage, and first-party property coverage. Liz represents her clients, including Fortune 500 firms, small privately-owned companies, and individuals, in state and federal courts throughout the country, as well as in numerous arbitration proceedings. She has successfully tried several insurance coverage cases to verdict, and has represented clients in numerous successful appeals involving issues of first impression defining the rights of policyholders. Liz has also obtained substantial settlements for clients/policyholders in insurance coverage disputes. She is recognized as a New York Litigation Star by Benchmark Litigation.
