Dallas Principal Lew LeClair and his team convinced a Texas federal judge to confirm and enter judgment on a $70 million arbitration award in favor of Soaring Wind Energy, a joint venture between the client’s entity, Tang Energy and a Chinese Company AVIC USA. Soaring Wind was created to cash in on the developing US wind energy industry. However, the parties ended up in arbitration after Tang accused AVIC USA of competing unfairly and breaching the joint venture agreement through its affiliated entities, one of whom started a new unit to compete against the joint venture.
