NEW YORK – McKool Smith, P.C., one of the nation’s largest trial firms, is announcing the addition of two accomplished patent lawyers, and the relocation of a firm attorney to the firm’s expanding New York office.
The latest additions continue the expansion of the firm’s national practice. The New York office, which opened last year, is lead by noted intellectual property attorney Robert A. Cote. In all, the firm now has 14 lawyers in New York.
“We are very excited to welcome this outstanding group of attorneys to our New York office,” says Mike McKool Jr., co-founder of the firm. “They immediately add to our deep roster of expertise in intellectual property, trademark and commercial litigation. We look forward to working with each of them.”
Mr. Cooper's practice also focuses on patent litigation. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from St. John’s University School of Law and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Tufts University. He also worked as an engineer prior to law school. After law school, he clerked for the Hon. Joanna Seybert, United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Ms. Martin moves to New York after practicing in the Dallas office. She earned her law degree, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law and her undergraduate degrees in Business Honors and Finance from the University of Texas. Her experience includes patent litigation as well as commercial litigation.
