Overview

Chris Johnson is a senior counsel in McKool Smith's Houston office. Prior to joining McKool Smith, he was the head of the Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Group at Selman Munson & Lerner in Houston. Chris has represented debtors, creditors' committee, creditors, and trustees in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases throughout the country. Prior to law school, he served as a captain in the U.S. Army, where he was assigned as the executive officer and pilot of an air ambulance company, and as a medical operations officer.

  • Schermerhorn et al. v. CenturyLink et al. Represents CenturyLink in defense of a mass action lawsuit involving 64 plaintiffs in five discrete groups that brought securities fraud claims relating to a sale of control of a distressed company.
  • In re Demay International LLC. Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors.
  • In re Alu-cut International LLC. Represented the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors.
  • In re Scotia Development LLC., et al. Co-counsel to the debtor.
