Cindy McBennett is an associate in the New York office of McKool Smith. She focuses her practice on mortgage-backed securities litigation.
Prior to joining McKool Smith:
- Represented institutional investors and hedge fund clients in pursuing recoveries on MBS portfolios.
- Advised the NYSE Hearing Board with respect to legal and regulatory issues regarding NYSE member compliance with the rules of the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and NYSE.
- Conducted an internal accounting investigation of a multibillion-dollar retailer that resulted in a $40 million net restatement of the company’s financial statements.
- Represented clients before the SEC and NASD, as well as the American Arbitration Association and the International Center for Dispute Resolution.
