David Dehoney is a principal in McKool Smith’s New York office. He focuses his practice on intellectual property disputes, complex commercial litigation, regulatory enforcement proceedings, and internal investigations. David has represented clients before arbitration tribunals, New York state trial and appellate courts, and numerous federal courts including the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York, the District of New Jersey, the Eastern District of Texas, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has participated in trials and hearings in intellectual property, contract, tort, and securities cases.
David has also been involved in internal investigations and audits for banks in the United States and in foreign jurisdictions, including most recently in connection with financial institutions and advisers that have assisted U.S. taxpayers in evading taxes in Switzerland.
Prior to joining the firm, David was an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell, where he represented some of the world’s largest companies in a variety of matters and disputes. He also gained experience in the intellectual property and corporate groups of the largest law firm in Korea.
Before attending law school, David developed software as a Bioinformatics Analyst for a drug development company and worked at an internet consultancy.
