Overview

David Dehoney is a principal in McKool Smith’s New York office. His practice encompasses a wide range of matters, including technology disputes, complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage litigation, and regulatory proceedings. David has represented clients before arbitration tribunals, the International Trade Commission, state trial and appellate courts in New York, New Jersey, and Delaware, and numerous federal district courts and Courts of Appeals. He has participated in trials and hearings in intellectual property, contract, tort, and securities cases.

David has also been involved in internal investigations and audits for institutions in the United States, Switzerland, Israel, and other foreign jurisdictions. He has significant counseling experience concerning privacy and cybersecurity matters, including international data protection and cross-border transfers. David is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Prior to joining the firm, David was an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell, where he represented some of the world’s largest companies in a variety of matters and disputes. He also gained experience in the intellectual property and corporate groups of the largest law firm in Korea.

Before attending law school, David developed software as a Bioinformatics Analyst for a drug development company and worked at an internet consultancy.
