Kevin Bergen

Kevin Bergen is a Technical Advisor in the Austin office of McKool Smith. Kevin’s practice focuses on patent litigation support in the electrical, biomedical, and computer arts with expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, business methods and fintech, medical devices, MEMS, semiconductors, telecommunications and mobile devices, and analog and digital circuitry. Kevin also has experience assisting in patentability, validity, freedom-to-operate, and patent landscape analyses.

Prior to joining McKool Smith, Kevin acted as a lead technical consultant on patent matters with law firms across the country. Kevin analyzed patent portfolios in pursuit of monetization opportunities, assisted with preparing expert witnesses and writing expert reports, drafted infringement and validity contentions, performed schematic reviews, and reverse engineered and tested potentially infringing products. He also has experience preparing and prosecuting patents before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Kevin is adept at supporting attorneys and clients in offensive and defensive assertions.
