Matthew Rand is an associate in McKool Smith Hennigan's Los Angeles office. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Matthew gained experience in plaintiffs' side shareholder class actions. These matters involved claims that a board of directors exceeded its authority, breached fiduciary duties, and violated various provisions of the Securities and Exchange Act of 1934. He has also focused on antitrust, international arbitration, securities, and other litigation matters where he conducted research; drafted briefs, motions, and legal memoranda; and participated and supervised discovery.
While attending law school, he was the senior articles editor for the Journal of International Law and Politics.
