I chose McKool Smith because I wanted substantive opportunities at a junior level, and my first two years at the firm have far exceeded my expectations. In my first 6 months at McKool Smith, I first chaired a half dozen depositions in three different cases, wrote complicated and interesting briefs from cover to cover, and participated in a handful of court appearances. McKool Smith is a great place to learn by watching, but there is an equally important emphasis on learning by doing at all levels.
At McKool Smith, not only are associates asked to be in the “room where it happens,” but we are asked to participate in (if not lead) major strategy discussions with the team and the client. My opinion is always valued and my voice is always amplified.
The culture at McKool Smith is comfortable and welcoming, and the work is cutting edge. I am always learning alongside a group of smart, talented, and kind people, and couldn’t ask for a better place to grow as a lawyer and hone my litigation skills.
