DALLAS – Gemalto, the world leader in digital security, has filed a patent infringement lawsuit over technologies used in the popular Android operating system. The lawsuit Gemalto SA v. HTC Corporation, et al., No. 6:10-cv-561, was filed October 22 in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
In the Complaint, Gemalto accuses Google, HTC, Motorola, and Samsung of using Gemalto's innovations in the Android operating system, Dalvik virtual machine and associated development tools and products. The patented technologies at issue were developed in the 1990s at Gemalto's research and development facilities in Texas.
