Law360 has reported that the Texas Office of the Attorney General announced a $45 million settlement with Gilead Sciences Inc. to resolve claims that the pharmaceutical company ran an illegal kickback scheme to get Texas medical providers to favor its medications. The state alleged that Gilead offered providers incentives, designed to steer prescribers toward Gilead’s drugs and resulting in millions of dollars in claims submitted to Texas Medicaid. The settlement resolves a suit the state brought in 2023.
