John C. Briody

John Briody is an associate in McKool Smith's New York office.  His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation matters, including class action securities, antitrust matters, and SEC investigations.

Prior to joining McKool Smith, Mr. Briody was an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, representing clients in a wide array of commercial  litigation matters, including shareholder derivative suits, securities and antitrust class actions, and breach of contract cases.  Mr. Briody also has represented clients in connection with investigations by the United States Securities Exchange Commission, Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission.   Mr. Briody has served as a law clerk for the Honorable Joanna Seybert of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Briody was an analyst for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and also worked as a mutual fund accountant.
