Chris is an Associate in McKool Smith's Washington, D.C. office. He specializes in guiding clients through a spectrum of intellectual property issues, encompassing patent prosecution and litigation to safeguard and uphold patents and other IP rights.

Before joining McKool Smith, Chris served as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. His tenure focused on scrutinizing patent applications within the electric motors sector to ensure adherence to pertinent legal standards. With a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering complementing his background, Chris possesses a deep technical insight crucial for effectively securing and preserving his clients’ intellectual property.

• AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Nokia, and Ericsson. Secured a complete defense verdict for AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Ericsson and Nokia in a consolidated 5G patent case in the Eastern District of Texas, defeating $436 million in claimed damages. The jury found no infringement, invalidated all nine asserted claims across all three patents, and held that the plaintiffs had breached their own FRAND licensing obligations.
• Daingean v. T-Mobile. Helped secure a significant patent defense verdict on behalf of T-Mobile in a dispute against Daingean Technologies for alleged infringement of a 5G telecommunications patent.
