Steve Pollinger is a Principal in the Austin office of McKool Smith. He litigates patent, trade secret and other intellectual property cases across the United States at trial and on appeal.

Mr. Pollinger served as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable S. Jay Plager at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C.  He has spoken frequently on intellectual property topics.

3M.  Represented 3M in Prompt v. 3M,  a patent case concerning health-care management software.

Medtronic.  Represented Medtronic in Alt v. Medtronic, a patent case concerning pacemakers.

Nortel.  Represented Nortel in Ciena v. Nortel, a patent case concerning high-density telecommunications technology.

Infineon.  Represented Infineon in Staktek v. Infineon, a patent and trade secret case involving memory density technology.

Ericsson.   Represented Ericsson in Ericsson v. Harris, a patent case involving cellular communications technology.

National Instruments.   Represented National Instruments in National Instruments v. MathWorks, a patent case involving four patents covering the award-winning LabVIEW software, and in National Instruments v. General Patent Corp., a patent case involving computer smartcard patents.

Crystal Semiconductor.   Represented Crystal Semiconductor in Crystal Semiconductor v. OPT, an appeal to reinstate a $48.5 million jury verdict for infringement of patents directed to audio integrated circuits.
