Austin Principal Josh Budwin was quoted in World IP Review's article, "Smart Ringleader: Could Ōura’s Market Dominance Be Under Threat?" The article discusses an ongoing patent battle between Ōura and several smart ring companies. Ōura has managed to successfully block Ultrahuman and RingConn from importing their products into the U.S. While Ultrahuman has responded by filing a lawsuit in India, claiming Ōura infringed their patent, Samsung has filed a post-grant review for Ōura's key patent. Josh says, "there’s a significant likelihood that when that post-grant review decision comes out, it could hold the patent, including the claims that Ōura prevailed on, to be invalid.”
