Overview

Alexander Hartman is an Associate in McKool Smith’s Washington, D.C. office. He earned his law degree from The George Washington University Law School.

Alex served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Zachary N. Somers of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, where he gained strong complex civil litigation experience. He also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Kathryn C. Davis of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and for the Honorable Timothy J. Kelly of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, where he worked on both civil and criminal cases before the respective courts.

While in law school, Alex gained valuable experience as a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. In these roles, he assisted in mitigating national security and law enforcement risks, and was involved in various federal criminal prosecutions and national security matters.

At The George Washington University Law School, Alex received the President’s Volunteer Service Award and served as a Research Assistant to Professor Laura A. Dickinson.
