Emily Tannenbaum

Emily Tannenbaum is an Associate in McKool Smith’s New York office. Her practice focuses on patent and intellectual property litigation involving complex technologies, including video coding, cloud computing, telecommunications, and mechanical inventions. Emily has experience across all stages of litigation, from pre-suit diligence, through discovery, Markman, summary judgment, and trial. She is skilled in analyzing technical issues, reviewing source code, deposing technical experts, and developing litigation strategies. She has participated in matters pending before federal district courts, the International Trade Commission, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Emily is also a registered patent practitioner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Prior to joining McKool Smith, Emily gained significant experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications involving a variety of technologies including software, electronic hardware, medical devices, and the mechanical arts.

During law school, Emily was an Articles Editor and a Staff Editor for the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal. She was also Treasurer for the Intellectual Property Law Society and a Research Assistant for Design Law.
