Overview

Grant Johnson tries complex civil cases involving structured financial products, syndicated loans, bankruptcy, and international banking. He also represents clients in disputes involving trademarks and patent infringement. Grant’s experience includes representing trustees, hedge funds, and global banks. He has successfully litigated cases in state and federal courts nationwide, including the Southern District of New York, the District of Delaware, the Western and Southern Districts of Texas, the New York Supreme Court, and before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

In addition to practicing at the trial-level, Grant has substantial experience briefing and arguing federal and state appeals, including billion dollar appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and petitions for certiorari to the Supreme Court.

Prior to joining the firm, Grant was Counsel to the Solicitor of Labor, where he assisted with the representation of the Department of Labor in trial and appellate litigation and provided legal advice to the Department’s constituent agencies. He also previously clerked for the Honorable Karen LeCraft Henderson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and for the Honorable E. Grady Jolly of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

While in law school, Grant was a James Kent Scholar—the law school’s highest yearly academic honor—and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
