Overview

Kaylee Hoffner is an associate in McKool Smith’s Houston office, where her practice focuses on intellectual property matters, with an emphasis on patent litigation. She has significant experience handling high-stakes patent disputes across a range of technologies, including mechanical devices, semiconductors, 5G wireless communications, software, robotics, medical devices, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

Before joining McKool Smith, Kaylee practiced at a top national law firm, where she litigated matters involving AI technologies and advised clients on AI governance and regulatory compliance. She also has experience with patent prosecution and advising clients on patent portfolio development and technology landscape analysis.

Prior to her legal career, Kaylee was a mechanical engineer at The Boeing Company, specializing in equipment design and robotics and controls. During law school, she served as president of the Intellectual Property Law Student Association and earned a Law, Science, and Technology Certificate with a focus in Intellectual Property.
