The article discusses recent cases filed by major entertainment studios such as Disney, Universal, against generative AI companies for copyright of their characters and works. These lawsuits focus on the AI-generated outputs in addition to training the large language models. Avery discusses the MiniMax case and how the platform promotes it's ability to recreate characters which differs from other AI companies being sued over copyrighted works.
