DALLAS – Mike McKool, co-founder of the national law firm of McKool Smith, and firm principal Robert M. Manley again have earned spots on D Magazine’s annual listing of “The Best Lawyers in Dallas.”

The June 2008 issue of D Magazine highlights 240 local attorneys in 19 practice areas who have been recognized by their peers as the best in the city.  Mr. McKool is honored for his work in business litigation, while Mr. Manley is recognized in the area of intellectual property litigation.

The 2008 honor marks the fifth consecutive time that Mr. McKool has earned a place on “The Best Lawyers in Dallas” list.  Mr. McKool serves as trial counsel for some of the world’s largest corporations, including major airlines, energy companies, telecommunications firms and investment banking houses.

Mr. Manley repeatedly has earned “Best Lawyers” recognition, as well as D Magazine’s separate ranking of top young lawyers.  His practice focuses on complex business and intellectual property litigation covering telecommunications and technology advances and applications.

To compile the 2008 list of the top attorneys in Dallas, D Magazine collected nominations from practicing attorneys who were asked to identify peers whose work they have observed firsthand, including firm colleagues, co-counsel and opposing counsel.  The magazine’s Executive Editor then met with a blue-ribbon panel of attorneys to finalize the list.

McKool Smith has more than 90 attorneys in Dallas, Austin, Marshall, New York and Washington, D.C., handling commercial and intellectual property litigation for national and international clients. The firm is recognized as one of the premier litigation law firms in the United States, having earned significant courtroom victories for clients such as American Airlines, BearingPoint, Ericsson, Electronic Data Systems, Lockheed Martin, Medtronic Inc., and Sony Ericsson.
