DALLAS -- McKool Smith attorney Robert Manley was featured in an hour-long Webcast on patent litigation sponsored by the Association of Corporate Counsel. Mr. Manley participated in the discussion with in-house counsel Mallun Yen of Cisco Systems, Inc. in San Jose, Calif. and John S. DeGroote of BearingPoint, Inc. in Dallas.

The panel addressed recent judicial responses to the recent U. S. Supreme Court ruling in claims brought against eBay, the trends in patent infringement litigation and the venues in which those claims are being filed, and congressional efforts that could impose new restrictions on plaintiffs in patent cases.

Mr. Manley is a principal in the Dallas office of McKool Smith whose practice deals with complex business and intellectual property litigation. During his webcast remarks, Mr. Manley highlighted potential counter measures that a corporate defendant could employ in response to litigation filed by a so-called patent troll.
