Due to COVID-19 impacts, Congress has included companies from this industry as a recipient of aid. “While this aid could help many companies in the short term, the oil and gas industry needs to make itself aware of the potential pitfalls associated with liability under the False Claims Act (FCA) when receiving federal funds.”
