Overview

Daniel Hendler is a skilled trial lawyer who represents clients in high-stakes commercial disputes, with a particular focus on financial litigation and antitrust matters. He advises and defends leading financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies, and hedge funds in complex cases involving structured financial products, competition law, and commercial health insurance.

Daniel recently played a pivotal role in a significant bench trial victory on behalf of junior bondholders in a residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) dispute concerning the disposition of over $400 million in loan principal.  His incisive cross-examinations of two expert witnesses were a key factor in the judgment, with the court explicitly finding both experts “not credible”—a rare and powerful outcome that underscores Daniel’s command of technical subject matter and his effectiveness in high-pressure trial settings.

He has successfully represented clients in high-value litigation involving RMBS and CMBS. His track record includes securing a $27 million summary judgment for Fannie Mae in a dispute over proceeds from the 2015 sale of the iconic Stuyvesant Town/Peter Cooper Village apartment complex.

In the antitrust arena, Daniel has represented high profile corporations in two of the largest and most consequential antitrust litigations in U.S. history:  In re Payment Card Interchange Fee and Merchant Discount Antitrust Litigation and In re Blue Cross Blue Shield Antitrust Litigation. He currently represents multiple Fortune 500 companies in opt-out actions related to the Blue Cross litigation.

With a background that bridges both law and business, Daniel brings a strategic and analytical approach to every case. His clients value his ability to simplify complex legal and financial issues and his relentless focus on achieving favorable outcomes.
