McKool Smith has sponsored a $1,000 scholarship for the University of Texas Thurgood Marshall Legal Society (TMLS). The scholarship was awarded to the University of Texas School of Law 1L student Alyssa Gordon at the TMLS Annual Gala in Austin, Texas on February 20, 2020.
TMLS scholarships are awarded to TMLS members who best represent the legacy of Thurgood Marshall. To qualify, students must show a demonstrated commitment to using their legal education to support underserved communities or fostering community and support among the TMLS membership.

The Thurgood Marshall Legal Society (TMLS) is the law school affiliate of the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA). TMLS contributes approximately 50 members each year to NBLSA––one of the largest student-run organizations in the nation.
