The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) has recognized McKool Smith Austin principal Kat Li as a 2021 Fellow, and New York associate Melissa Cabrera and Dallas associate John Yang as 2021 Pathfinders.

Kat Li, based in the Austin office, specializes in patent and complex commercial litigation. She is experienced in actions before federal district courts, the ITC, the PTAB, and the Federal Circuit, as well as in a variety of technologies, such as mobile devices, semiconductors, computer software, electronic materials, and telecommunications. She’s also recognized by Best Lawyers in America as “One to Watch” for Intellectual Property and Patent, and by the State Bar of Texas Asian Pacific Interest Section as one of the “Best Under 40” in 2020.
Melissa Cabrera, based in New York, focuses on intellectual property and complex commercial litigation. Her practice has included actions in Federal District Court as well as the International Trade Commission.
John Yang, based in Dallas, focuses his practice in intellectual property litigation. John has technical experience in analytical chemistry, molecular biology, and pharmacokinetics
