Commenting on the reintroduction of the Patent Eligibility Restoration Act, Washington, DC Principal Nick Matich said that “the bill is a thoughtful attempt to clean up the current mess of section 101” and that “the bill would be a significant positive improvement over the status quo.” He added that “leaving patent rights open to never-ending validity challenges is destabilizing and destroys the incentives patent rights are meant to create.” He added that while there are "some open questions" about the bill, "most laws have gray areas."
